About Us

HVTT Foundation was established in 2023 under the name ‘HoVoTraSon Family Association.’
In 2025, it adopted the name ‘HVTT Foundation’ to better reflect its mission of supporting underprivileged students.
Registered as a Canadian not-for-profit corporation, the foundation is currently in the process of applying for registered charity status.
Its board of directors consists of 10 members, with 6 based in Canada and 4 in Vietnam.
Funding for the foundation comes from private donations from board members.

Our Board of Directors

Ginette Labelle and Robert Vos are co-founders of HVTT Foundation.
Robert is a retired engineer and Ginette has several years of experience in government and the private sector. They strongly believe that helping underprivileged children get an education is the best way to make this world a better place, and are dedicating this chapter of their lives to this endeavor.
Robert is currently the president of HVTT and Ginette its secretary.

Dr. Thuy Luong (Lương Nguyễn Đắc Thụy) is a dedicated dermatologist with a passion for helping others. With a strong commitment to patient care and community well-being, Thuy strives to make a positive impact on people’s lives through medicine and compassion. Believing that caring for others is the foundation of a better world, Thuy is devoted to promoting health, confidence, and happiness in every chapter of life.

Di Nguyen (Nguyễn Võ Di) is a third year undergraduate student at the University of Waterloo, majoring in Computer Science. He’s been involved in 3 different internships, where he managed, maintained and developed backend systems across different areas. Due to the nature of his line of work, he’s also experienced in providing technical support to staff and organizations. Within the university, he’s also involved with the Computer Science Club, where he manages the systems that run the club and the services that the club provides to the student body.

Linh Pham (Phạm Văn Linh) is a journalist working in Vietnam. With over 10 years of experience, he has covered, analyzed, and commented on social issues in Central and Southern Vietnam. He has a deep understanding of the hardships faced by underprivileged children who need support to access education. At the same time, Linh has an extensive network across various industries and sectors, enabling him to connect resources and contribute meaningfully to the community.

Nancy and Gord Stothart have been married for nearly 40 years, initially meeting at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. They have lived in several parts of Canada: west coast, east coast and central, as well as Peru and Chile, and currently reside in a suburb of Toronto. They have three children and one grandson. Nancy worked for several years as a Registered Nurse, before retiring to focus on family. Gordon has worked in many areas around the world as a mining engineer and mining executive, and currently is an independent mining business consultant. In addition to HVTT, Gordon also serves on the board of the St. Elizabeth Health charitable foundation.

Hang Vo (Võ Thị Thúy Hằng) is an accountant. She is working for a large Vietnamese payment services firm. Hang is HVTT’s treasurer.

Dr. Trang Vu (Vũ Thị Thùy Trang) is a dermatologist who has been practicing in Vietnam for the past 10 years. She is dedicated to advancing dermatological care in Vietnam and supporting community health initiatives

Dr. Ralph West spent his 20s roughnecking on offshore oil rigs. He then did an MBA and worked in operations at the Bank of Canada. He entered dental school in 1993 and completed a 20 yr career as a Canadian Forces Dental Officer. He now practices in a Public Health clinic.
